Default 2012 F150 sync problems

I am new to owning a ford F150. Always been a dodge person myself, but I couldn't pass up this deal on the Ford so i went out and got it.
I have only had this 2012 F150 XLT for three days now and yesterday I tried to do an update on my sync. I followed the instructions from www.syncmyride.com and downloaded the new update to a flash drive. When I first started the update, everything was working fine, but then i got a call and walked away from my truck for about 10 minutes. When i got back to my truck, i waited for about 10 more minutes, but i never got an installation complete other than the first one within 30 seconds of plugging in your USB (which I ignore like the instructions told me to). So after about a total of 25 to 30 mins. I decided to hit the AUX button and pull the USB out. after doing so, noting on my radio would work. Couldn't get a sound out of it. Any button i would hit would just take my back to a display that said, "phon". So, Immediately pulled my sync fuse and put it back in and all my functions for my radio and Sirius radio started to work again, but now I have no SYNC....noting!!! I push the media button on my steering wheel and nothing, I push my AUX button and it says SYNC for a second and then goes back to the previous thing, which would be my radio. I tried to reload the update through the USB, but it seems like the USB is not working because the little light on MY USB drive wont light up when i plug it in like it is supposed to do...CAN ANYONE HELP????

You may be toast. I was told it can take over 30 min. If you interrupted it it may have totally scambled the software. I had to take mine to a ford dealer and the update sucks. It tries to switch back to line in every chance it gets. I'm looking for any aftermarket drop in navi or later sync version.

Hi SABRE40,

Congrats on your purchase! Are you able to perform a master reset: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...ter-reset.html If not, a visit to the dealer is needed.

Keep me in the loop.

Welcome to the Ford Ownership! Great trucks! However....they seem to have pretty crappy installs/updates for the sync software. Go over to the 09-14 (mines a 13) section and read about the horror stories we've had trying to get the updates installed.
