As a previous poster says, search transmission problems in the 2009+ froum section. If you just bought the truck, the tranny has a learning cruve. It adapts to your driving style. I called that guy BS, and he said the same thing. He was right, it will begin to shift smoother.

If it continues to feel light it slips, bumps, or continues the rough shift. Have it reflashed. That took care of my problems. However there are other things that could cause the problem, like a two piece driveshaft. That takes and a shaft realignment, and new grease to help.

I have noticed this with my 5.0, it is something I am monitoring, hopefully it works itself out.

I have that problem to in my dads 2010. When you merge over on to the high way from about 5 mph to about 70 it will do it. I have no clue how to describe it

My 5.0 won't ever go into second slowing down. That's why I think third gear doesn't lock up right away cuz it acts as second sometimes till torque converter completely locks up. It only goes into first at like 8 mph or less I think.

I have a 2011 with 6 cyl. And Ecoboost. When I slow down for red light then speed up, feels like I have been rear ended. I sometimes experience a hard thump which feels like drive shaft. Anyone experienced this?

CopWad--Yes I have had this problem with my 2011 6 Cyl Eco Lariat Screw, it seems like you've been rear ended or jumped a curb. Makes a nasty sound. Has me concerned and I now have over 36K miles........

I drive a 2011 F150 Ecoboost the transmission went in August while pulling my 25 foot Airstream, blew fluid every where, supposedly there was a recall for a leaking transmission pump that no one told me about till after the fact.
Truck was in and out of the shop and 3 transmission rebuilds later it still shifts crappy when cold, hard clunky shif between 3 and 4. They had it for 5 weeks.
Lambton Ford has had it back 3 more times kept it over night to try it in the morning, amazingly they say there is nothing wrong with it.
Ford does not even rebuild the transmissions themselves the farm it out.
I keep asking for a new truck or new transmission they keep stalling and saying there is nothing wrong with it. Does Ford train their dealers to stall the customer till the warranty runs out.
