1st its not a ecoboost problem its just the same on all of the 6 speed ford autos 2nd the trans was redesignd so as not to go into 2nd gear when downshifting at a stop to eliminate the harsh downshift. 3rd its real easy to correct just come to a complete stop at a stop sign like your supposed to. 4the the EB should have no problem with a rolling start in 3rd

its not only when i dont come to a complete stop .its when the truck is going slow and you go to take off its in the wrong gear with a slight slug to it the ec has no problem taking off its just how good is it for the tranny to be lugging along ,and how long will it last,my pos dodge works better than this thing.it just dont seem right,****s smooth like butter but dont perform well

Do you know if you have the latest PCM reflash? My ecoboost has been in a few times for reflashes and my trans still has sloppy upshifts and downshifts or it experiences very harsh upshifts or downshifts, it seems to have a mind of it's own. It can also be clunky. I have had several other issues as well, not very happy with the early production Ecoboost's.

Read the threads on the 2011 engine forums, there are lots of guys complaining about them. The trans isn't EB specific, the 6-speed is in all their trucks.

Don't let the dealers fool you, they always say they either never heard of it or it's normal. I have to tell my dealer about all the TSB's out for this truck, they never have a clue, it's a joke really.

I had a chain tensioner go bad in my transfer case, which I diagnosed and told them about. Before it broke, it was making noises on gear engagement, I brought it in, they had it for a few days only to tell me it was "leaf spring preload." Well it went a few months later.

I would try a different dealer.

After I made the dealer install a new drive line all my clunks and shifting issues went away. Mine is as smooth as silk now. Just in time to get a new one.

Who is this "BS" that everyone keeps calling?

Barbara Streisand, Britney Spears, Brooke Shields?

My buddy and I have the same problem with them as well. Coincidentally they are both Ecoboost. I know that has nothing to do with it though. When i took it for the first oil change (before they put the wrong oil in it) I asked them if they have had any problems with other trucks... he said no... I pulled the TSB i found on the fourm to show him... but he still insisted on my transmission being fine.

Yea I'm in the same boat. I just bought my truck, an EB, about a month ago and have noticed the rough downshifting when slowing down. Has anyone experienced any actual transmission damage? I love the truck and am fine with the downshift as long as I know its just the way they are and nothings wrong.
