Default 2004 Ford F150 Engine

Hi everyone,I am new in forum I’m looking for a used or rebuilt engine for my 2004 Ford F-150 and need some advice on where to start. My truck has 5.4L Triton V8 and the current engine is no longer running due to severe knocking" or blown head gasket Should I be checking local salvage yards, or online marketplaces Or I have also seen on online website https://usedpartsjunction.com/produc...rd-f150-engine. Can anyone help me to Select a correct engine?

who will be your installer ? an 04 is not worth that much money and even a used motor my cost you more than what it's worth.

Thanks for the important information. My installer, Used Part Junction, has also given me installation service. Will my decision be right?

There are several specialty sites that sell used or rebuilt engines, such as eBay, Car-Part.com, or Junkyard Dog. You can also check out sites like RockAuto or LKQ for rebuilt or used engines.

Thanks everyone for giving me suggestions. I looked everywhere and found that Used Parts Junction gave me the lowest price.

How about sharing some more info on this, will help others considering similar decisions:

how many miles were there on the used engine?

how much was engine (price)?

And how much did they charge you to do the install/swap?

did they warranty the engine or their work?

All services and parts, including the engine with 83,000 miles, were provided by Used Part Junction. The engine cost $1,000, with an additional $700 for installation, and a six-month warranty was included.

If the installer did not already do this, change the oil and filter ASAP to give yourself a better shot at longevity.
Assuming it is a good engine the price looks good to me.

Looks like a decent price to me as well. 6 month warranty gives some peace of mind. I don't think you could get much better deal.
