Loaners are nice, but not a requirement, unless it's in your plan, in which case they are to pay you out a per day cost so you can rent.
You can also enact lemon law in states that have them if you've exceeded your down time requirement.
Yes, this sucks, but strap in, it's going to be years before we are caught back up. There was not only the period when almost everyone shut down, a lot of industries also lost a chunk of employees the past three years, and that came on the heels of a downward trend of available blue collar employees that's going on 15 years now.

10r80 Reman Transmission
I created an account literally just because the 10r80. Took my 2018 F150 XLT 3.5 EB to the dealer three times (this is the third). First time PCM reflash and adaptive learning tables at 58k miles. Next was the valve body replacement at 63K miles. Now I need a whole new tranny at 68K miles. They're telling me a reman transmission with the new CDF drum (JL3Z-7H351-B) could take anywhere from 3 months to 2 years to get here. Contacted Ford and opened a case number with them after the second time. After the third I called and put in the paperwork for a buyback. Will it work? Not a clue, but this is ridiculous. Shew, glad I got that out of my system lol

They're telling me it would probably be just as expensive to try and rebuild as it would be to replace. I doubt they tore it down, it seems like they're following Ford's recommended sequence of repairs instead of trying to diagnose it themselves.

Yeah. That is interesting. My local dealership is pretty large and I am am told they get overflow transmission work from neighboring dealers. So I guess it is kind of a crap shoot. If they have the techs available I think they try and rebuild. If it means towing your truck 200 miles or something to a shop that has the bandwidth, maybe it's not cost effective anymore? I don't know. Or of course, yours does something where they are like "yeah, not worth it" Just guessing. Good luck with everything.

Well they told me yesterday , thursday that will be Monday before they will begin taking my 2019 with 56,000 miles transmission apart to see what's wrong with it , will be 3 weeks monday since I took it in, they originally said 5-6 days. They said it was still together, I guess offering a chance to take it somewhere else. No loaner , help with rental,
nothing. Say they can't initialize a warranty claim until the "break it down " and determine exactly the problem. on my way for another u-haul rental van to do my job, sucks!

It went reprogram/reset, valve body rebuild, valve body replacement, teardown diagnostic, then rebuild for me. It seems that is sort of the ford protocol (for lack of a better). But it also seems like it is dealership specific whether they will do a teardown or not.
