F that. Unless you need it and can justify having one for deeper reasons than "they look cool", I would not do it. As for the V10 (I know you said you don't need one but this is just because it was brought up) we have 5 of them in our fleet, two of them are in Excursion 4x4's and they average 11mpg highway. No bueno.

That's just my $.02- take it for what you find it worth.
Well if it rides rough and the gas mileage is much worse than a 5.4L F150 then i will stay with the 1/2 ton. I just hate having an automatic transmission truck!!!

No, its the new gas engine that is going to replace the 5.4L in the SD trucks and will be the optional upgrade engine for the Raptor. Hopefully it trickles its way into the more standard spec 150's.

Oh wow, i might have to set and wait on that one. If it has alot more hp than the 5.4 but gets pretty good gas mileage like i have heard the 6.0 V8's that chevy has do, then i might have to go with that.

I had one the other night at work it was a four door 250 with a 6.2 with 3:73 gears and I averaged 17 mpg with about 80 percent highway and 20 city. They have 412 horse from the factory.

Whats wrong with Diesels? Way more power and torque than a gasser and 2x the MPG, whats not to love?

It costs more per gallon in some areas, some people dont like the smell of them, maintence is three times as expensive and the list goes on. Personally my next truck is going to be a diesel cause I think they are bad a**! As far as more info on the 6.2 they are fast as hell have torque that you wouldnt believe and sound great too. Also they can be bought with a 5 speed manny tranny.

It doesnt matter if it costs more, you get 5-10 MPG better. New ones dont smell bad. Yes maintenance is hard but if you get a 7.3L or a 6.4L or the new 6.7L that shouldnt be a problem...

A diesel would be wrong and a waste for me. I dont own a 40ft 5th wheel, haul 8 or more head of cattle at a time, or have to tow around small construction equpiment on a 40ft gooseneck trailer. I would be wasting ALOT of money if i had a diesel. Diesel is more than gas where i am (a dollar more a gallon). The maintence for a diesel is higher than with a gas motor and if something goes wrong on a diesel outside of warranty, its gonna cost way more than a gas motor. And thats not even including the upfront cost. If you build a F250 XLT Super crew 4x4 with the 5.4L motor and then look at how much the price would jump with a diesel, the difference is $6300. I see $6300 as going along way in paying for gasoline. If i actually had a use for a diesel motor then i would buy one, but i just dont pull anything that heavy. I pull a bass boat around and a 17ft flat bed trailer with no more than 3000lbs of weight in the trailer. I pull those items with my 2006 F150 4.6L V8 just fine. My F150 has a towing capacity of 6300lbs. I dont own anything that weight remotely close to 3tons. I just liked the looks of the Super Duty's and was just asking about the gas motor in the F250 cause i know i dont want a diesel.
