Default Amp Powersteps

Wanting to upgrade my ’21 to the Amp Powersteps. I found a great deal on the newer Xtreme model with double motors, shipped to me for $1659. The bad news is they are out of stock there, and they already said they have no ETA of when they’ll have them available. (Even though they charged my credit card immediately when I placed the order, maybe that’s routine, I don’t know). Anyway, they also have the standard single motor original version for $1421 shipped, and they are in stock, available for immediate shipping.
Im torn between getting the Xtreme version, paying $240 more, and waiting for an unknown amount of time. I like the idea of having the extra motor on the Xtreme version, but something also tells me that’s one extra motor on each side to eventually wear out or malfunction. And we all know anything built by man can wear out or fail, no matter how good the quality is. I can also save the $240, order the standard version and have them in a few days.
Any opinions here? Any leads on a in stock set at that price point? Experience with either set? Advice? Do I really need the Xtreme model. Aside from the extra motor, I think they are basically the same dimensions and width?
Thanks in advance!

Where did you find them for $1421 shipped? I passed up some for $1250 a couple of days ago. Don’t pass. The extreme sound nice but my last ones lasted 6 years. Not sure how much longer the other ones will last. Had my truck for 5 days and already regret not having the steps ordered before I purchased. JMO

I found them at electricstep.com. The standard model is in stock right now. They have a discount if you enter your email address, and another $50 if you enter the coupon code "discount" at the check out page.

I have the standard one motor AMP steps on my truck. They work fine, were super easy to install and increase the ground clearance of my truck when off-roading. FWIW the factory running boards (which are not manufactured by AMP) are single motor units too. I had the factory ones on my 2015 F-150 and had zero issues with them when I sold the truck at 100,000+ miles.

I actually have a set of the Xtreme on order. I found a company called tonneaucovered.com and they had a chat feature. I figured it was worth a try. Sure enough, They matched the price of $1659 for the Xtreme no questions asked. Were very friendly. Confirmed that they were in stock as well. Should be at my door by the end of this week!

Had a set of Amp on my 08. Still have them need to sell them. Great items, will get a set for my F150. Never had a single problem with mine.
