Default Max payload revised to 2235 pounds

Range arguments aside, that's not bad for a 4X4 super crew truck. Better in fact than ANY screw ice F-150 4x4 5.5 bed.

Considering it still weighs a hefty number it is pretty good!

Saw a media clip this week about how they're into production now.
Looking forward to their arrival!

Battery range is also better than originally projected.

Interested to see if anyone has done real world towing with these, ie. towing maximum allowed tow weight without going over max allowed GVWR on the truck itself.

With some of the ICE F150's I know towing a trailer that's anywhere close to max towing capacity without going over the trucks allowed GVWR is a challenge,

If the max payload is really 2300+ with whatever trim/options are on the truck, that should allow it to pull a hefty sized trailer without the tongue weight pushing it over, and assuming it can pull a 12,000lb trailer, how far will it pull it between recharges?

Max is always the max with no options. That's why we have people with 1350 pounds payload when their configuration's max is 2100 (ecoboost 4x4 supercrew 5.5 bed).

So the 2235 will be the standard range pro model, without even a tow package. I think we've already seen payload stickers for well optioned trucks comparable to the ICE trucks.

Also, FWIW, the maximum towing capacity is listed at 10,000 pounds. And we know pretty well that towing range will be severely impacted.

With how much effort it takes to pull that much weight, I suspect the distance will be embarassing when towing anywhere that isnt flat.

As with an ICE tow vehicle, the hit to range will vary based on the aero profile of the trailer. A 12,000lb trailer loaded with bricks is not the same as a 12,000lb camper. Having said that, my mpg hit is around 50% on my 3.5 Ecoboost Expedition with my 7,000 ultra light camper. I expect the Lightning will see a similar 50% to 60% range reduction. This vehicle obviously won't work so well towing long distances. But for trades that tow within a metropolitan area and recharge at night, it's a game changer. Most people buying vehicles in this price range likely have access to other vehicles as well. If there were an SUV version, I could get that and keep my Expedition for the occasional trip that's over 300 miles. Ford really needs to add 800V to this vehicle though. With that big battery, 400V charging on roadtrips is too slow.
