Default Delated Options

So, a lot of us are having to settle on not getting options that were on the 22's like the heated steering wheel, on board scales and security pack.
My question is how and when should we be able to get those chips? Should we be on a "Priority" list to be able to purchase?
Seems my 511A is only an 510A, with extended range and under seat storage. So frustrating!

Has anyone asked their dealer what the recourse is to get these chips down the road?

My guess is: your truck was built and sold as is. Chip priority, i assume, will go to vehicles being built. JMO

Any deleted features can not be added after the fact unfortunately, once the truck is built, you got what you got so to speak

Update,

So my truck is due to be delivered in the next couple of weeks. I talked to the dealership and they mentioned without asking that the heated steering wheel is in place pre-wired etc just not the chip. And for the same price as discounted I can have the chip installed once available.
Fingers crossed that the same can be done for the onboard scales and enhanced security system.

This may be a stupid question but, where does the chip get installed? and do they really install a new chip or do they install a new module that finally has the chip in it?

Digital,

That a fair question. I can't answer though.
I will ask when I pick up my truck at the end of the week and get back to you.
The only thing he mentioned is that they'll treat it like a recall notice and that I should only have to buy the chip/module for the $70 Cdn rebate that was credited back on the sales order.

Thanks! My SIL received word from Ford to take her 22 Explorer in for the rear AC controls installation, she did and was told it was just to assess what to order. Will be interesting. Also I am curious because my sons ordered 23 Explorer has all of the parts under the bumper, confirmed by selling dealer, for the hands free tailgate, but it is not activated. So we are wondering if a simple change in Forscan is in order, or is there an actual chip missing within the installed module. Look forward to your response, thanks!

Maybe someone Ford Parts Knowledgeable can answer?

They likely engineered the control modules to have fully separate boards for both input, control, and output for the decontented features. May be as simple as popping the top off the module and sliding a card into a connector on the board.

All my sales guy said is their treating it like a minor recall. But yes hopefully just a simple pop-in and done.
