Default What do you think?

So I'm thinking about buying this 79 F150 for a toy. I already have a 2011 F150 that I use for light off roading/towing and daily driver but I love the older trucks and would like something to have some fun with. This truck is a 79 F150 4x4 with a lift, 35s, crate 351 Windsor that has headers roller cams and some other work done to it with only 2300 miles connected to a 4 speed auto. The interior is in fairly good condition. The guy has installed all digital instrument gauges as well as power locks/windows. Honestly I wish it had the original windows and locks but its okay. I test drove it and it seems solid and good. He says he replaced the u joints and I checked around and it all seems solid. The only problems I could find is that the front left shock needs a new bushing, needs a tail gate, there's some rust around the door frame of the cab above the passenger door and the tires have very mild cracking but are over all in good shape. The guy wants $3800 and I am trying to talk him down. He said $3500 but I'm still wondering if its a good deal. Sorry only have two pics at this time. Let me know what you guys think.

Sounds like a good buy to me around here people are selling for more than that for way lesser trucks most being barely running

Most like this one $5,000

Keep talking about it instead of doing it and it will be gone.

Oh btw I ended up talking him down to $3000. After driving it around a bit only problem I've found is when turning tight it sounds like something is popping in the hubs? I know for sure they are fully disengaged because I can freely turn the drive shaft. Any input on that? Thinking maybe bearings.

Thanks! I really like the color as well. Eventually I'm going to have to re do the paint because there is some body rust around the doors on the cab. Mainly around the passenger side but that's to be expected with a truck this age. It's not my top priority at this time but its on my list of things to do. I look forward to having this truck for many years and making it exactly how I want it! Here is an another picture of the truck. I washed it and installed the emblems as well since the pic was taken.
