Default What is this?

It looks like a tin can, but I have no clue what it's for or even is. Any help would be nice, thanks!

I'm pretty sure that is a vapor recovery canister, part of the emission control system.

I had an 85 with the 351HO and it had miles of vacuum lines, check valves, etc.

So since I don't need emissions anymore can I take it out? And yeah miles of lines and hose under my hood too. Got a 302 EFI here

if it connects to the top side of ur carb and to a line that follows ur frame then ya it is the vapor return, and u want it unless you go to a carb without a vapor overflow... it will save u gas and money
