Default Steering Question

I have 79 f150 400 4speed, whenever I turn the steering wheel it does not go back to 'zero' or straight ahead at all . And if you turn th wheel to a certain degree the truck just Dives tha direction, does not matter if you turn right or left. Shouldn't the truck 'right' itself? Any ideas? It has a new power steering pump

Well, the reason your steering wheel rights it self is because of the physics of a tire turning on a flat surface, the tires wants to track straight, it doesn't have anything to do with your steering. If your going 20, and you take a shallow turn, your tires are being stressed because there no longer following the path of least resistance. I wouldn't worry about your steering bud. It could be something at simple as your steering stabilizer is to stiff.. Hope this helps man..
