Default Steering problem on 78 ford

Hey guys I just got a 78 for f150 and It's in great shape just way out of line on the front end.. I was hoping I could get a few tips on how to align it back without taking it to the mechanic.. Any help would be great! I will post a pic of the truck tomorrow

With out gauges, only thing you can do is to set the toe in. Shoot for 1/16 toed in.

What does your tire wear look like? How does it drive, any pulling to one side, wandering, looseness?

It drives good.. It's a little loose and doesn't really wander and tread wear is not too bad.. The main problem is that the steering wheel is 90 degree turned to he left to drive straight

Those old steering collums had a splined shaft and wheel. Stop truck with wheels straight ahead, remove steering wheel and reengage. Those where easy to fine tune the steering wheel alignment. Dumb old me, I actually thought you were talking about the front wheels and their alignment.

I'm having a little trouble getting it to idle right.. It will idle good for a bit then it drops down and acts like it wants to die.. Have any ideas what could be the problem?

Didn't catch what engine truck has. If its the 351M/400, they were notorious for intake manifolds leaking. Use choke spray to isolate leak.
