Default Nylon Fuel Lines

I am thinking about replacing my fuel lines from the gas tank to the fuel pump. I am interested in the nylon fuel lines. Has anyone worked with these before, or does anyone recommend certain connections, etc.? Thanks.

I have never used nylon lines as a replacement for stock steel lines. That being said, there are specific ends you need to use with that type of material, you cant just clamp it on as you would with a rubber to steel fitting. You may find that the ends you will require are not available for the fittings you need.

Is there any benefit to using nylon fuel lines?

The only benefit I can tell is not having to bend replacement steel lines and the whole rust thing.

If your lines are intact, I would just flush them out and reuse them.

Default Fuel line clogging

The problem is that my fuel line keeps getting clogged from the tank to the fuel pump. It clogg's so much that I can get any gas to the carburetor. I blew air back through the lines into the tank. That worked for a little while, but now it's clogged again and air trick isn't working anymore. So I figured that I would replace those fuel lines along with the gas tank, because it has caused me so many problems. At this point I can't get the truck running to even troubleshoot my carburetor problems. I can get steel line and rent a tube bender from the local auto parts store, I just thought not having to bend the fuel lines would be easier going with nylon.

You definitely have a point about not having to bend the lines but I would still hold off doing anything with the lines until after you have the tank out for replacement. Make sure you get a line on the pick up assembly just in case that needs to be replaced as well. I am almost positive you will find that the pick up is getting clogged with s41t from the bottom od the old tank.

Its possible there is a filter inside tank on end of pick up tube. I've had that before when it was said there was none, just a thought from 1964.
