What improvements do you want? The easiest way would be to sell it & buy a newer truck. But if you want to add things onto that one, click my signature link & read what I did to my '83 Bronco.

It's a long list, but...this truck has a Carter single barrel non-feedback carb, it has the distributor with a computer controlled advance, it had a smog pump, but non of the solenoids, the computer has nothing hooked to it but the distributor....it runs and drives good...I am beyond puzzled, what would be the proper setup for the ignition

This video shows how nice its running

If you aren't going to list them, we can't help you.

What computer are you talking about? Where is it? Post pics.

How do you know what's connected to the computer if you don't know where the computer is?

This truck is confusing me because it has a non feed back carb, had a smog pump but none if the solenoids and the red green and white vacuum lines, it has the newer style distributor with the big plug on the side, theres no ignition module on fender under hood, it starts..runs and drives fairly decent but the jumble of different parts is the main confusion. that's the long list I was referring to
Apologies if I caused confusion

You have to remember, something that old has had God knows what changed, or modified by any number of people. Your best bet is to get some manuals and look at how it should be set up and see what putting it back to factory does - if that isn't too costly. But without knowing what was done to it, it is hard to give advice on what to do with it. Posting pictures would help a great deal!
