Default Looking at 83 4x4

I'm going to look at a 1983 F150 4x4 automatic trans this morning in about 4 hours. Anything I should be looking for? I know the passenger window is missing.

I didn't get the one with the missing window. Instead bought a 1983 F150 FX4 Long Bed in much better shape. Can't wait to get it home and start working on it.

You should put ALL the truck's details & history (as much as you know) into your signature so it shows with each post, as this page explains:

(click this text)

Phone apps don't always show signatures, so you may need to switch to a real browser in desktop mode on your phone, or just use a desktop/laptop computer. Put your location (nearest city) in your profile & upload an avatar of the truck. The more pics you post of the truck, engine, wiring, labels, & undercarriage, the more likely we can help you. Not all its details are relevant to these issues, but you don't necessarily know which ones are relevant, so just put everything in now. Follow the links on this page, and (eventually) read the Haynes cover-to-cover at least once:

I will. I did put all that in my profile. Didn't think of a sig file... I'll do it now.

I created a sig file but it doesn't show in my posts.

I got the beast home... Now to make a plan for getting it running. I had a 2wd F150 30 years ago, but memory fails. Where is the dogone hood latch. Pulled the in cab handle but can't find the safety latch!
Found it,
Has a new Holley Carb and Eldebrock manifold. PO told me old carb was bad, no rebuild kit for it, so he changed it. He told me the new carb needs a vac advance distributor. Is that true? The distributor on it has no vacuum advance.

Ugh... I don't think they used the stupid "FX4" term back then... don't go putting that stupid label on a classic...
