Default King pins

Just changed out the RF tire and man the king pins are shot. How big a job is it to replace them.I am very mechanically inclined but don't know if it is worth the trouble doing it myself.Thx George

I rebuilt the front end on a 81 F150 I had it was not that bad of a job. There are two different size pins the smaller ones have plastic bushings they are pretty simple to replace the larger ones like I had were metal and have to be reamed to fit the pins. It took me about four hours to replace both sides. Took longer to chase down a reamer than to do the job.

Had to change out mine on a 76 I used to have. They would not budge, had to basically take most of the front end out and put them in a 100 press to get them out. It will amaze you how much power your power steering pump has. I would turn but raised total hell. With the front end off the ground and a pipe wrench on the caliper with a 4 ft pipe, could not turn the wheel. Hopefully yours won't be this bad.
