You'll also need the frame part of the motor mounts to. They're different from the 6cyl mounts. If your going to do a DSII ignition you'll need the module, and maybe the dizzy, also.

I have 6 swapping to 302. Can I just get v8 mounts from a parts store or is there more to it?

Don't know if parts stores sell them new but you should be able to get them at a junkyard. You want the frame perches AND motor mounts. Your may or may not be bolted on. Some were bolted some were riveted but the holes in the frame should be the same. Just make sure to use a good grade 8 bolt when you replace them.

Not sure about an '85 but you may have to consider a bigger radiator for a V8 too. Using the same transmission? It should fit both the 6 and the 302 but if you have to move the assembly forward or back, you'll have to modify the driveline as well.

You can also check BroncoGraveyard.com... they have a lot of the motor mounts and frame perches, as well as other items (if needed). They also have a catalog they can send you. I swapped my I6 to a 460 big block in my 1986 F150.... mounts and perches bolted up just fine. Had to invert the oil pan which they carried also. Also had to convert to a remote oil filter due to where it lined up with the cross member I didn't have enough room. Got that kit from Summit Racing. With the 302 not sure you'll have too many problems with that.

mine came from ford, worth spending more on factory ones if you can get them, dont want a crappy motor mount to allow the engine to vibrate the truck.

junkyard would be a good alternative as well, motor mounts don't really go bad

I did this years ago in a fullsize bronco. Had to remove the frame perches for the i6 motor mount. Once you do that, you will see where the cutout is on the left frame rail for the v8 oil filter. Simply bolt the v8 frame perches in place and drop it in. If you stay with a 302, 351 Cleveland , or 351 Windsor your bell housing should be the same. I also remember changing the radiator out. The bottom brackets were the same , only needed the top radiator brackets that came on the donor trucks radiator. It is a very easy straightforward job when swapping carb motor to carb motor. The 85 & 86 trucks that came with a 302 were fuel injection.
