Im running the upgraded lens and 8000k's hids in my 78, Shortly the 81 should have them down the road. Probably one of the best upgrades I did to mine, So much more visibility then stock halogens, Eventually I will be upgrading to a hid projector to cut down on some of the light scatter.

I dont have hids but i upgraded my 86 to new style bulbs. Lmc truck sells a glass lensed housing they call custom headlights that come loaded with a replaceable bulb. Add this along with a pair of relays in a hd harness thats all plug and play except 2 grounds and i almost tripled my stock light output. Cost was under 100 bucks.
