I'm comming in on this very late, scanned the posts quickly, bear with me. First make sure the rotor is turning, if so make sure you are on the compression stroke for #1. Its possible, with all that has been going on, the dist is on exhaust stroke. Crank marks will line up on each stroke. Remember crank turns two revs per camshaft or distributors one.

Rotor is turning,
I have considered that I could have #1 on compression stroke with all the times I've pulled the distributor..I did re-check at one point..will again..
BUT even if I did have it 360* out..I would still get spark..just at the wrong time...Correct??
Thanks for your input...Tom

For those interested, Started checking grounds under the hood, moving inspecting wiring harness..very old and fragile, some wires with insulation breaking apart..went to the EEC-IV computer module under the dash, found only partial power to the 60 pin connector. Missing 12V on pins 37, 57. This comes from the EEC Power Relay. Pulled what I think is the EEC Power Relay, made a jumper to short, simulate contacts closed..Hit the key..Started Immediately!!!!!!!Whooo HOOO. Now the weird part...pulled the jumper off, Truck continued to run..maybe a little less RPM..Re-started the truck with Relay OUT??? Put Relay back in...ALL OK...Anyway Truck is now running and I believe I have isolated the problem to the EEC Power Relay or associated connector, wires..
Thanks to all who tried to Help me...Tom..

i have an electrical question for you all. i posted in another thread but no one has replied yet. i have a 95 F150 4x4. after about 2 weeks of driving it after i bought it, it blew the fuse that controls the speedometer/odometer. when that happened the overdrive light kept flashing and it shifted real hard. guy at ford dealership said it might be a wire in the gearshift thats chafed and shorts out when i shift. what do you all think?
