I am trying my hand at restoring a 1980 F150 ext cab short box.
Mine has a factory tach with the Custom trim.
As a new Ford restorer is this common or rare????

have to admit that after restoring multiple GM trucks that the lack of responses on this forum is a little disappointing.....
I am excited to try my first ford resto and my hope is that I can get some good tech info when needed and share my heavy duty tech knowledge in return.............

I have a '85 that did not come with a factory tach. But, the truck came wired for it so I installed one. As to your question I do not know, I saw it the day you posted and have been looking to see what I could find to answer your question. As far as I can find it was an available as an option. I can not find if it was part of the Custom package or not. Sorry it took so long to respond to your question.

They were all wired for it starting in 1980 I believe. Can't say I've seen many of them though.
