Default F150 79'

Where can I look on the truck to figure out what the factory color was?

I am trying to restore my dad's old F150. Its been in the family for a long time and its just painful to watch it rust away in the yard :/

Its been sitting a while what things should I be looking for ( I know take care of the rust which we will be doing soon), but drain gas? replace all fluids?

Look for a 2 digit code on the door jamb sticker.

I would say about year and a half since it was cranked. I know at the time it was needing a new clutch and some front end work.

But over the time it was sitting some guy stole the starter soleniod off of it. So I was going to order the soleniod, replace all the fluids and try to start her up and pray she does.

Its a Single cab short bed 4x4 F150 with the 300 I6 and 4 speed tranny

THanks for that site Ill go look for the code tommorow.

That is where I am looking for parts. After getting it working and replacing all the stuff that is worn all I really need is a new tailgate and fix a few spots that are rusted. Then after some paint she wont be so hard on the eyes.

I have been thinking about lifting it, but part of me doesn't want too Idk why :/. If I do lift it any it will be a small lift and maybe a slightly more aggressive tires. I really want to keep it looking how it did while I was growing up or close
