Default Emissions or none?

Bought a 79 300-6 motor from a friend of mine that i havent seen yet and I wanted to know if it was an emissionized motor or not. I thought they started that in the 80s but I'm sure Im probably wrong. Anyone know?

Might have some but not allot. PVC, maybe air pump and EGR. Shouldn't have a cat unless it's a California model.

I don't think so. My 85 has a lot more vacuum lines, vacuum switches, computer controlled ignition and carb that the 79 shouldn't have. But anything newer than 1967 could be an "emissions motor" to some extent. I had a 67 Vette that was a California car that had the air pump setup. So it kind of depends on what you consider an emissions motor. Being a 79 it may or may not have a cat, egr or vacuum pump but it shouldn't have the computer controlled ignition or carb.
