Default Clutch Problems

I have a 1983 f150 4x4 with a np435 transmission. I am having a problem where after letting of the clutch the pedal gets stuck about halfway back up. It does not happen every time but when it does I have to manually pull it all the way back myself. I can't figure out what is causing this and all of the forums I have read involve transmissions with hydraulic clutches, but mine is a mechanical clutch. Does any one know what the problem might be?

Check the return spring, and make sure the actuator arm that goes in to the bell housing can move freely.

If it is not a hydraulic clutch check the return spring as stated above, it might also be time for a new clutch!

An auto parts store. The spring's purpose is to keep every thing taunt and rattle free. The pressure plate springs sound like they're weak and not fully releasing or something in the linkage is binding or worn out. If you do end up replacing the clutch make sure you resurface the flywheel and keep greasy dirty fingers off of all materials.
