Canadian F150 that doesn’t pull any info on VIN
i have been looking for a rebuild kit for my 83, there are 2 different kits for this year model because they made the rear main a one piece instead of two, and a few other small changes. My door tag is gone, so I’ve been trying to run the VIN to get the production date. Even Ford says my VIN does not exist in their system. I’ve found out that the truck was made in Canada. Anyone else ever run into this?

Ford doesn't really support anything older than '97. But the VIN doesn't contain the build date; only the SN would give you some idea of where in the production year it came off the line. Click this & read the whole caption:
