Default best carb?

Looking for best carb on Ford 400 block with 4 barrel intake already installed I'm thinkin 650 but all advice appreciated

Holley Street Avenger 600cfm or Edelbrock 1406 650cfm, either one of those two.

I would go with an inexpensive holley 600 for the time being. Jegs has them for well under 300. If your planning on upgrading engine components in the future you are going to outgrow the 600 so no sense spending a boat load on it for the time being. Hooker competition headers are pretty reasonable for your truck, i think i paid 220 for me set about a year ago.

Sure if you take the time to set it up, a vac secondary 600 to 750 cfm would probably work great out of the box, if you like to fiddle with things the double pumper has lots to fiddle with.

They came with a 2 barrell numb nuts. A 600 4 barrell is plenty for a stock motor. You need to spend your free time playing a little guessing game called your *** or a hole in the ground.
