Auto transmission issue
I am new to the site, having recently purchased a 1986 f150. I am most appreciative of the truck to date, mostly disposing of yard waste and short travel to the local rifle range.
The truck is free of rust, straight and runs quite well on the hwy when I take it out to run it at hwy speeds (about bi-weekly).
It is fuel injected, with the 5.0 litre (302 V8) and auto transmission, with 93,000 kilometers on it, (approx 60,000 miles).
Does not burn oil and I have had the radiator/cooling flushed, same with the transmission, no adjustment simple new filter etc.
If I start the vehicle cold, let it warm for a couple minutes and proceed from the house, I have a hill come up quickly. Stop sign and proceed up the hill, some grade at this point. The transmission slips at this point consistently, necissitating back up and going around the block to take a run at the hill.
During travel no issues with shifting at any other time, in any other gear, at any speed, (including heavy acceleration). Fluid level is fine, is this rebuilt time or can it be adjusted.
Many thanks, I enjoy the site.
