79 tilt steering column
Hello.
I'm new here. Just picked up a 79 F150 custom 4X4 shortbed.... Nice truck with 66K on the odometer.
The past owner had some trouble with the tilt steering column, (must be pretty rare in these trucks), and let someone work on it who proceded to take the column completely apart. Then install a column from a different truck. The original column is in a tool box in the back.... in a bazillion pieces.... dosen't look good.
Does anyone here know what year steering columns will interchange with a 79....?
I would like to locate a complete tilt column..... or if that is too much to ask ....A complete standard column.
The truck is an automatic with column shift.

Judging by lmctruck.com its a 78/79 only. Good news is its rebuildable. Either use this diagram to put yours back together or order the pieces and rebuild it like new. Here is a link
