Default 2wd mudder?

i have a 2wd f150, 302, c6 tranny, stock. i was wondering without changing it to a 4x4, would it make a decent mudder and what can i do to make it decent, i dont really want to lift it ether. althought i might think about lifting it 2-4 inches.

Definitely get a locker. As far as changing it to a 4x4,probably cheaper to sell yours and buy another.

Welding the spider gears is a cheap way to lock the rear end. Also a good way to break axles.

yup. welding the gears in the rearend will make it have posi, but when it breaks (and it will) youll be screwed. i dont know if your lucks anything like mine but it will probly break while your out in the mud. youd be better off to just get a 4x4. i had a 2wd f150 and i took it muddin until i got stuck and had to spend the night out in the woods. i traded it for a bronco the very next day and ive had a 4x4 ever since

I know it works for some I have been around a couple 2wd mudders I think it just all comes down to the type of offroading you are doing, the driver, the 2wd vehicle and so on, but like Alex stated where he got stuck with his 2wd and had to spend the night in the woods a 4wd may have got him out of that mess...

i used to have a 2wd S10 with street tires on it and i used to mud the hell out of it, hit **** hard and keep your momentum up, it all depends on the driver, i could take it anywhere a stock 4wd would go, just stay outta wet grass haha

in this pic i was about 2 miles back in the trail runnin the ridges, just make sure you've always got someone with you to pull you out
