Default 1986 f150 no FP activation

Hello, I recently got a 86 f150 with the 302. The first time I turned the key I heard the fuel pump fun for about 5seconds then cut off and that was it. I tried jumping the diagnostic plug to force the pumps on and got nothing. The pumps run when I jump the fuel pump relay terminals. Also when I tested for voltage at the diagnostic plug with my test light it would turn the pumps on... The truck fired right up with a little starter fluid sprayed in the intake. Hoping its something simple. My manual mentions an eec relay(that turns on the fuel pump relay I think) but I can't find it on the truck.

Pre-'87 EFI relays can be hard-to-find because their location wasn't standardized yet. I'd check above the gas pedal or under the driver's seat (near the EEC, wherever it is). ID the relay by its WIRE COLORS.
