1986 F-150 startup problem
My 1986 F-150 snowplow truck occasionally fails to start although it cranks just fine. After sitting around for 5 minutes it sometimes starts right up. Sometimes it attempts to start but flutters and I have to keep hitting the gas pedal to try and get it to start completely. It appears that it is being starved for fuel but when it starts it runs real good.
Any suggestions?

Update:
When I went to replace the fuel pump relay under the hood, I discovered that the old relay was fine but there was a loose wire connection from the base of the relay that would break contact when I jiggled it. This explains why it cut out on me when I would move snow and end up pretty hard against the snow bank.

Look for a power distribution box,it should be under the hood on the driver side fender. It will have a fuse and a relay for the fuel pump.
