Default 1986 F-150 question

I just bought a 1986 F-150 with the 302 fuel injection. I was just wondering what parts I would need to change it to mass air. I did it to my 86 LX Mustang but i dont know if itll be different in a truck. Any help would be great about what parts to get and what to get them out of or anything.

Match gasket patterns = Bolt pattern line up.

Match wire colors = Ground wire -Wire to ECU - 3rd wire to? Bingo!

I'm not familiar with the fuel injection on an '86 truck, but it definitely doesn't compare with the fuel injection of the '86 Mustang. Trucks are in a different class than cars so their emissions standards don't have to comply as fast as cars. For example: all cars were required to have EGR in '75, while trucks didn't need it until '78.

If I were more familiar with the fuel injection system of the '86 then I might be able to give you a decent parts list, but since I'm pretty sure the system doesn't even compare to the '87 system then I don't really know. I would like to see a picture of your engine to familiarize myself with the fuel injection, and I might be able to help after.

I think '86 was the first year Ford came out with EFI on a truck . It is a throttle body type like this:

That appears to be the same as the "87, so you would need the engine wiring harness, computer, distributor, ICM, mass air sensor, air intake tubing which the sensor is attached as well as the air box. You need this from a '94-'95 5.0 truck. If your transmission is a non-electronically controlled automatic (C4, C5, C6, AOD) or is a manual then you need the computer from a manual transmission equipped truck. I don't think any of the '94-'95 trucks had a non-electronically controlled automatic which is why you would need the manual truck computer.
