Default 1984 engine replacement?

I pulled into my driveway after a one mile drive home with all my radiator fluid pouring out of where exhaust attaches to engine. I assume it is bad news and not an easy fix. The engine is the 5L 302 V8. I like the truck and am considering replacing the engine. Is this a wise decision? I can't do it myself, so I'll have to find someone in Atlanta area to do the work. Opinions?

These old trucks aren't worth enough to pay someone else to maintain or repair. If you can't DIY (and pulling the engine is a BIG job), get rid of it & get something more-reliable.

If you want to learn how to DIY, follow the link in this caption, and read it cover-to-cover at least once:

If it's worth it to you, go ahead. But you asked for opinions, and I gave you one.
