Default 1978 F100 Value

I have a friend who has ordered a 2019 F150. He has a red and silver 1978 F100 standard cab, 8’ bed XLT, 302 V8, 3 speed manual, 2WD, power steering, HD rear bumper that he bought new 41 years ago when he finished college. He drives it daily and it has over 300,000 miles on the odometer. The truck is 99% original, looks good from 20 feet, no dents, no rust. He’s going to sell it and acts as if he doesn’t think it is worth much. I say just being a one-owner means a lot. It would be a great truck to restore. What’s a ballpark figure as to its value?

If it runs and drives and has a nice straight rust free body, it is a $3 to 5k truck depending on the rest of the condition

Yeah, I was thinking $5k would be a good place to start.

300k is cool it is a Ford I've owed a few .I think 2800 be fair it will need some maintenance eventually ,there's a bunch of them around and not a highly desirable now if it was a Chevy or dodge it might be more just because there's only a couple left they all rusted away

Too bad it’s not a SWB 4WD. 8’ bed is a little ungainly. However, it’s very similar to the famous Sam Walton Truck.

Don't get me wrong I'd like to find one like that cause I have a set of axles from a 79 350 and nothing wrong with that bed also new bushings ,shocks, new tires it'll ride as nice as a new one with no rattles cause ain't no plastic
