Default 1955 Restoration

I was given an old Mercury truck. I think it's a 1955 but wont know for sure until the snow is gone and I can go get it. It looks the same as the f100's so I was wondering if the parts are interchangeable? Also can anyone point me to a site where I could get replacement parts? i'm entertaining the idea of fully restoring this truck. Making it a 4x4 and maybe make it a diesel too.

That has huge potential. Lmctruck.com should have most everything you need for a stock looking rebuild. If it were me id do a warm 302 twin turbo with about 15 pounds of boost and 800hp.

Ok thank you I'll take a look at that site. The reason why I'm thinking of making it a diesel is because I'd like to pull a 4 horse trailer.

Body parts for the most part are the same as the ford counterparts, with the exception of any badging. Mercury branded parts are rare as hens teeth so I hope for your sake it's all there or you may have to turn it into a ford lol

As far as I know all the badges are there, one fender needs replacing and I need a new grill.
