Wireless Charging Pad
I know the 2021s will have wireless Charging under the 12" screen in the little storage area but does anyone know what trim it starts to become available In?
I get the feeling I saw it in an xlt 302a that I drove but I could be completely wrong. After doing some research I think it only comes standard on platinum & up.
I think with all of the wireless android auto / carplay capabilities the wireless charging pad is the perfect compliment & would complete the system.
Will be installing it with the OEM part later on if it doesn't come with the truck I ordered.

This is one of the easier mods I imagine doing. Take out the piece that has the charging mat in the higher end models, put a charging mat behind it, splice the USB 3 plug or put a hub behind the panel and you've got your original plugs, plus a wireless charging mat. With the hub, you could probably put more USB plugs somewhere too.
I guess only time will tell... I think it will be something we can do.... the way I see it ford has put so much effort into perfecting the manufacturing process that I don't think they would waste time / parts / storage to change the actuall internals based on the options each truck comes with. I think all trims come pre-wired and the options are hooked up as required. This is of course to a certain extent ( based on trim level and configuration of console/interior)
Could always get a charging pad and plug it into the 5v USB and attach it via velcro to where the other charging pad. Another option is to get induction coils afix it to the back side where the the wireless pad would be and tap into the 5v of the USB or tap into the 12v somewhere and use a buck converter to drop the voltage down to 5v.

THIS. The USBs plugs are in the storage bin under the screen as well as inside the storage bin under the middle console arm rest. You just have to make sure the wireless pad you use can secure the phone for charging.
If you guys are getting the same wireless charging pad that the '21 super duties got, beware. The thing is next to useless w/ an iphone 12. I believe it's an iPhone thing. I've tested two iphones, both drop wireless charging, then you get an annoying alert on the screen. I've tested other phones, and they were fine. Seems to be the consensus across the interwebz too.
