I have 2021 SCAB XLT 303A, I'm trading in the truck on 2026 Powerboost that's on order and of course a few weeks ago a stone chipped the windshield. Safelight is having a problem sourcing the correct windshield because on the current one which had been replaced in 2024 the mirror and related component wiring harness is soldered to the windshield. The replacement windshield has 2 buttons the harness snaps on to, apparently that harness can not be found on any diagrams. I searched online at numerous online Ford dealers and the windshield for a 2021 are not available. Anyone have a similar issue and how was it solved. I asked about soldering the old harness to the windshield but the clerk said it won't work, not sure that it wouldn't if you know what you're doing.
Windshields are absolutely available, most online vendors (including us) just don't ship them due to damage issues. I'd bet they installed the wrong glass, what's the last eight digits of the VIN? I'll see if there's any notes in the system about windshield replacement.

Sourcing specific parts reminds me of hunting down CFMOTO Zforce 950 Accessories where certain components just seem to disappear from diagrams entirely. I searched online at numerous online Ford dealers and the windshield for a 2021 are not available. Anyone have a similar issue and how was it solved. The Safelite clerk dismissing soldering is likely just outside their scope, an independent auto glass shop or automotive electronics tech could probably make it work fine. Try an independent auto glass shop first as they have different supplier networks, then check LKQ or salvage yards for a matching 2021 windshield with the correct harness already attached. Also contact your Ford dealer parts department directly with your VIN referencing the mid production harness change. Since you are trading in soon ask your selling dealer to handle it as part of the trade process.
