Default Where are the 2.7s???

Seems that Ford is pushing out the 3.5 engine big time. Not seeing any 2.7s or V8s for that matter at dealerships around here in Boston area

Just wait. They're probably also producing the more expensive models (Lariat and above) that commonly have the more expensive powerplants.

They'll be pushing the 2.7's soon enough for the average MPG ratings.

My 2.7 runs great, especially in Sport Mode. And the fuel mileage is great @ 55-65 mph on cruise control.

I'll be doing some shopping/test driving this spring....I'm very interested in the PB, but rest assured, if it doesn't "measure up" to my expectation, I'll most likely be back in another 2.7 truck.

I follow the same procedure for every truck purchase.....each of my potential engine choices get's a shot to impress me. The 2.7 is two-for-two so far.....

Everything I've read says the 2.7 is a carryover, but the torque number is ever so slightly different. The '21 makes 400ftlb @ 3,000rpm, where as the '18-'20 made 400ftlb @ 2,750rpm. What's the deal with the 250rpm delta? I'm sure the change is not due to any mechanical changes and probably just programming, but why would Ford do this?

Is the engine different than last year?

I heard that the engine now has a timing belt that should be changed every 150,000 miles.

The manual on my 2021 2.7 says to replace Accessory Drive Belt at 150k miles, no mention on a timing belt

I have no knowledge of the engine being different. I only know that we don't even have a date yet when we will start producing trucks with them.
