Default When to upgrade?

I have been a die hard Ford driver for over 30 years... it used to seem I was always anticipating the next new vehicle because of some great new upgraded and features coming down the line... but, right now I am not sure what to look forward to. I can't seem to find ANY info about what is coming next except the same old 1-2 year old articles guessing about what's next for the F-150 with no facts. I am currently in a 2016 Lariat. I always tend to keep them for 8 years or so and then upgrade. I was planning on a 2024, but after seeing all the features that are no longer available... the things that did not make it in (new infotainment system)... and the crazy price jump, it just does not seem appealing right now. Even looking ahead to 2025, not sure what to even expect. Next gen electric? Will anything be done with the core F-150 in the 2025 model or will it be the same as the lackluster 2024? Will 2026 be the next big redesign of the core vehicle? If so, how big a change will it be, and would I want to give it a year to work out the bugs and look at 2027?

I'll be very honest... all of this, for the first time, is making me want to go look at what other companies have available... never thought I would feel that way.

My '22 502A has gone up in price about $500 a month. That is not good. I had a '16 500A before and i can't say the '22 is any better other than the 10 sp and not an oil leaker. But.. things wear out. I think we are still in the gas fired truck era. Let things sort out in electric avenue another five years.. then maybe. In the mean time i would get the best mpg configuration just in case.. gas is eight bucks.

Also... i think you stay where you can write a check for it. or wait.

I came from an '18 SLT prior to to the '22. Not on board with the GM wax frame. mine was rusted bigly..

I have owned lots of F series trucks. In the 90's, I started going back and forth between Dodge/Ram and Ford because I was swapping every 2 years and with Ford and Chrysler making significant changes every 4 years back then I could get pretty much all new for me every other year with the brand switching. GM never made the cut because they wouldn't put rear seat a/c vents in the trucks. Florida requires them, at least for me. My 2016 F150 King Ranch was one of the best Ford trucks I owned. The 2021 was the worst...by a long shot. The covid mess kept me from dumping it sooner. Ford couldn't and apparently still can't build trucks with all features and they proved to me the dealers can't fix them if they breakdown. I looked at Ram.. Current models almost identical to my 2019 Limited so I looked at GM. The Denali Ultimate rivals and exceeds the Ram Limited and Ford Platinum. So I gave the GMC a whirl. Ford has dropped the ball. They've somehow screwed up their supplier network, upper management is a mess and they are producing vehicles without properly getting training to the dealers to actually diag failures.
I can't speak on long term ownership of any vehicles as I never keep anything long.
