Default What are new trucks going for?

MSRP? Anything below MSRP? Are they marking up?

I'm not in the market. I plan to keep my 2017 for a few more years (I have 8yrs/100k ESP warranty and only have 30k miles on it). BUT, I have a friend who is looking. I'm trying to suggest buying anything right now is a bad plan, but certain models are decently priced at MSRP (e.g. STX), whereas others are ridiculous (if you pay full price for a Platinum or King Ranch, you're a fool).

Thoughts?

While in CT at a Ford dealer getting service, they only had a couple of 2021 trucks and they were specialty trucks with price tags of $100,000.00.
I would not be buying a truck right now. All those 21s sitting in lots waiting for chips will have to put in the market sooner or later and prices will have to come down drastically.

That's what I was afraid of. I see a ton of 2021's on the road, but I haven't looked on the lots, since I'm not personally in the market. I wouldn't buy until we get back to the 10k+ below MSRP range, which is what I paid for mine.

Those times seem to be over, according to the new CEO of Ford "Ford is losing money with that business model, and they want to use the same model as oversees manufacturers. Basically they will keep a low stock at dealers and if you want anything in particular you have to custom order."
this move will eliminate huge incentives as we have seen before and also give dealer ships better barging power. So basically say good bye to great incentives...
I'm in the market to buy a truck right now, due to circumstances and a ****ty dealership i'm without a car now and need one. But most dealers i talked to won't go below msrp anymore and laughed at me. i found one dealer that gave me a 10% discount on msrp and that is who i will go with.

Most are invoice minus rebates here. Especially if you order one.

They're delusional. The "oversees" manufacturers aren't padding the price by 20-30%. Ford (and GM, and Ram) are. My experience shopping for Tundras was that they had lower MSRPs than equivalent Fords, but of course sell closer to MSRP. Ford can sell close to MSRP, but only if MSRP comes down. No one is paying 75k for a maxed out F150, unless they're a complete fool. Those high-end models should have the largest discounts and typically do.

What areas are you guys in seeing below MSRP or invoice pricing? I've been researching the last few days and it sounds like there are a couple dealers doing invoice minus 3% on orders. Are you seeing those prices on in stock trucks or orders? Thanks!
