What is this?
it’s on the front of the rear tire wheel wheel and looks like a mini mudflap.

I think its called an aero shield. I see there is an aero shield delete kit with lower profile shields.

dependent upon what you’re reading, Ford calls it both a mudflap as well as an aero shield

Probably gives them an extra 0.0000000001 MPG. Got them on my truck, I think they look pretty stupid. My guess is car designers start going down rabbit holes in search of MPG improvements.

As linked above, the non-flappy version comes off the tremor. For how inexpensive they are, it sure cleans up the look tremendously.

I’ve only seen it on trucks that do not have the wheel well flares.

I found the smaller ones on Amazon for $30.00 or so - here's the link I used:

I could not stand those either. The Tremor has nice trim pieces there, so I ordered those. Fit perfect and were cheap. I see Ford even has them on their accessory website now: https://accessories.ford.com/2021-20...RoCzNwQAvD_BwE
