Based on the install video, it looks like there would be some spots for things to get in.

I was considering this. Seems like it would avoid the hood clearance issue, as well.
I installed this on my last truck. A 2020’ I only had the truck for a year, but the install seemed solid. This was the mat black and it was the aeroskin ll. I would recommend to use a hair dryer on the surface seconds before installing— and after the install as well. I’m convinced the heated surface helped in the process.
Like I said, I only had the truck for a year so I can’t vouch for the long haul. But I saw no change in the entire year .
My only concern was the rain. And the engineering because after the rain, gravity would have the water collect along the top of the bug deflector because of the gradual drop in the hood.
I always wondered about the long term affect because it would seem that the water had to seep thru it somehow—at least some would because I would think it was too much to evaporate.Perhaps you could park the truck so the front was higher than the back just enough that the rainwater would end up
in the wiper trough if that was a concern.

Same problem on my Durango, ended up adding washers to the hood latch so it would catch. Still looked fine and drives well
