Default Warranty Issues

Looking for some help! The AC compressor went out in my 2021. Called all 4 dealerships here in Vegas and was told it would be at least 3 weeks before I could even take it in. Friend of a friend is the service manager at the GMC dealership and got it in ready to fix within a day. Ford Warranty is denying my claim since it’s not at a Ford dealership. Warranty guy told me to talk to the dealership, have them open a claim, and sublet the repairs to the GM dealership. None of the Ford shops will do it! What’s the point of buying the extended warranty if they can’t even get the truck in the shop for the fix!?

Anyone have any experience or advice?

Your in a state with high temps. Warranty ac work is the last thing a dealer wants to do when there are full pay customers. Only suggestion i have is go to a cooler state.

I don't think you are going to have luck with this. Ford Protect terms and conditions clearly spell this out - the only way they will reimburse you for going to another shop is if your vehicle is inoperable at a time when all nearby dealers are closed. A failed AC compressor does not equate to an inoperable vehicle.

I get that, my issue is that it was going to be weeks to get it in to the Ford shop...AND the Ford Protect guy told me it was all good, I just need to get a Ford shop to sublet the repairs! If anything I would have expected it to be the other way around, but the warranty guy is ready to give the go ahead.

And thanks for not being a smart-***.

No Ford dealership is going to submit a warranty claim for repairs if they never diagnosed the problem.
