Default Using X Plan, but not being given correct price

I'm in the process of using X Plan for the first time for a custom order. As I go to look over the paperwork, the dealer is giving me the MSRP price and asking me to sign the buyer's order with MSRP price but with X Plan written across the paper. They say that they won't know the X Plan price until the invoice is generated with the VIN. Does this sound right or should I be getting the X Plan pricing upfront?

I did X plan as well. Signed the buyers order which lists the MSRP. Then I asked for a price quote once the VIN and window sticker was available and received the X plan breakdown at that point. Not saying all dealers are the same, but that is how it worked for me.

Also, they didn't say or have anything about incentives on the buyer's order. Just a bit skeptical.

Totally understand. I didn't have the incentives written down either until I got the explicit X plan pricing.

How does the $1,000 incentive work then? Is it as of now when I order or what is available when VIN and window sticker are generated, or when I take delivery?

The whole process is confusing.

Yeah they won't know X-Plan until invoice because Ford, not the dealer, provides the final price in plan deals.

The $1000 incentive and that I would think they can look up in Smart Vincent. They just need to put in your info.

You are eligible for the incentives offered by Ford at time of order OR time of delivery. So for example if Ford is offering 0% financing + $1000 at time of order, but 1.9% financing and $2000 at time of delivery, you can't say you want the 0% financing AND $2000, you can only pick one incentive package or the other. But you can make that decision when the truck is in and when you go to sign the paperwork.

Once your invoice is generated it will have boxes for A Plan price, D Plan price, X plan price, etc. They are required to show you the price on the invoice sheet, it shouldn't be on some other document made by the dealer.

This is almost exactly, word-for-word what my dealer told me; that they can't tell me much of anything until a VIN is created, even knowing I have my x-plan pin ready to go.
I still feel a little in the dark about final pricing. I'm not really liking the idea of waiting months for a truck, and having some part of the deal fall through, whether that be the financing, some incentive I might or might not get...whatever.

If all fails, I guess someone will eventually buy my special ordered truck. I did not do a deposit on my order so I always have the option to walk.

You can try to build your vehicle through Ford Partner (jumped from your X-Plan website), where the X-Plan price will appear.

I was literally told yesterday that Ford is not recognizing X-Plan due to the pandemic. I bought the truck anyway. Is this not the case? Should I lawyer up?

This information is totally wrong. The dealer has the option to accept X-Plan if they want, and it appears your dealer didn't want to honor it.
