Got into my truck for lunch today and when Android Auto started it came up with a new layout and now has spit screens. It was still the old layout this morning. Is this strictly an Android Auto update or did Ford update Synch? You can go to single screen by picking the app and that ads a split screen Icon on the apps bar

 

ford did release a sync update late last week, changed some things but that looks like more of an android auto one. I personally don't use AA so i can't tell 100%

 

That's AA. I got mine today, too. I few people reported getting that today. You need OTA 3.5.3 to come in to be able to take full advantage of it.

 

Look in the upper right of the header bar. That little down arrow with a check mark shows that an update was downloaded. Click it and it will give you the details.

You got Google's CoolWalk update for Android Auto. It is separate from the Ford SYNC system.

Whenever your SYNC updates to 3.5.3/4, it will come in very handy. It allows for full width Google Maps after that update, as well as a bunch of other small functions to start.

I have no idea how to check what version of Synch I have.

 

You can check in the settings menu, but I cannot recall how to get there. Do a little searching.

I’ve had 2 updates over the last two nights.

 

I got two updates just a day apart. I opened Ford Pass and the first notice said the only new feature was the ability for Android Auto to go Full Screen like the built in NAV. That seems to work but at times the MAP goes blank when switching between full and multi screen.
The arrows next to the AA icon switch between split and full screen - the "windows pane" below the MIC icon seems to put AA itself in or out of multi-window mode. (Too many windows?)

The next day I got another message in Ford Pass about another update that said something about advanced multi-phone management - I only have one phone connected so I'm not sure what that one does.
