Wonder if the guy on the line is possibly color blind and couldn't see the difference in shade since they are pretty close if viewed in a gray gradient.

 

It's not really that surprising, or uncommon. People go for years owning a vehicle before they notice. I've pointed out factory color mis matches, missing paint, runs, dirt, see through paint, etc on countless people's cars. That never even noticed until I pointed it out. Ford is by and far not the worst in this area. In my experience that award goes to Nissan and GM. Mostly Nissan
