Default Turbo Replacement...

Took my '22 F150 to the dealer today. Got a 'Service Powertrain' wrench light up on my dash. Second time it has come on. However, when I took it in the first time, they couldn't find a code... Well, turns out my 3.5L ecoboost, with 24k on the odo, needs a new turbo. Oofta...
Also, trying to get them do something with the 10 spd transmission...shifts like crap. Service writer said 'they're like that'. I said to him that my tranny was build in the time period that is covered under a TSB for the cdf cage. Don't think I'll get any resolution though...

Turbo failure, sucks that it happened but that is why there are warranties

Transmission on the other hand, i would be raising a stink, all he did was dismiss you. If your truck is exhibiting the symptoms outlined in the TSB, it should be repaired

My 2021 transmission is fine. My 2019 was good too. Both were smooth and I never felt any harsh shifts. A harsh transmission is NOT normal.

Truck was supposed to go into the dealership today to have the turbo/waste gate replaced. Didn't happen. They called and said Ford sent the wrong turbo. Now, I have to wait another couple weeks and hope they get it in time to do the work because we have a camping/fishing trip planned the week after. Asked the service writer if the loaner was going to be able to tow my 26' trailer? He said 'no'... May just have to send it with one turbo if it don't get repaired.

Update...

They did end up replacing the turbo/wastegate in time for my trip last spring.

Here we go again. Unfortunately, the Service Engine and Powertrain Malfunction lights have reared their ugly heads again. They are indicating another turbo/wastegate failure at 32k. Not sure if it is the original or replacement turbo/wastegate that needs attention.

I’d want them to dig dealer into the failures as they’re really not that common, especially at such low milage.

I would think there has to be some defect causing this.

Most turbos last 500000 miles, 17 years trucking ive never lost a turbo, maybe its time to get a better built upgrades turbo.

I personally have no experience with Fords turbos.

I think the turbo is fine, it's the wastegate that is seized however, it is sold as an assembly... turbo/wastegate.
