Default Transmission Replacement

Just wanted some feedback on my situation. Purchased a used 2021 hybrid f150 xlt in Dec 2022. It was a gold certified blue advantage vehicle (12 month 12,000 mile warranty) with around 62,500 miles on it at time of purchase. Been having random "service vehicle soon" lights since purchasing it.

Been in the shop several times for these "service vehicle soon" lights. Each time they repair something and send me on my way. This most recent time I dropped it off on Oct 2, 2023 with around 74,000 miles (about 400 miles of certified warranty left). Shop said it was a transmission fluid pump (or something along those lines). They replaced that, put my truck back together, and took a test drive. Within 5 minutes the check engine light came on for issues with the transmission. They got codes for the hybrid part of the transmission. Was told they rebuilt the hybrid transmission portion, put back together, and are still getting the same error codes. Long story short, they are now ordering a new transmission for my truck. After reading multiple posts on here about these trucks having transmission issues, I have my concerns. Will this new transmission fix the problem? How long will it last? Is it just a matter of time til thos one has issues too?

I've already reached out to Ford about a buy back, and it was denied. Only time will tell if the replacement transmission fixes the issue once they install it. Trying to be proactive with my thinking and decide if I really want to stick it out with this truck or just move on to something else. Never had any issues like this with my 2010 f150. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

There is like an auxiliary/electric pump in the transmission on the powerboost as far as I understand, since the transmission still has to operate on electric mode. I have seen multiple posts about that being problematic.

I had a 2007 F150 Super Crew with the 5.4 and the transmission crapped out around 110,000 miles. I had Ford re-manufactured installed and it was much better than original transmission. I will never have a Ford Service Center rebuild one. Also factory re-manufactured.

Too bad there wasn't some way to contact the original owner.

Wonder if they traded it off because of same issues.

How long have you been running the re-manufactured one? My biggest concern with them replacing the transmission is that it will go again when my truck has no warranty left. Not sure if I should keep it or not. Sold my 2010 f150 to get this one. My 2010 had over 150,000 miles on it with no transmission issues.

Hello, I lasted to another 115,000 miles. It crapped out also. I have the re-man transmission rebuild by a highly reputable Transmission shop who knows all of the issues with the transmissions installed. So, no issues!

Thanks

Picked up my truck a couple days ago. They ended up installing an all new transmission and needed to replace the cv axle as well. Been driving it for a couple days now and it doesn't feel the same. It feels like there is some resistance from the transmission and there is also a vibration in the gas pedal. Is this typical of a new transmission replacement? Is there a break in period to get it to run smoother like my original transmission was?

No there is no break in for the trans. There should be no vibration.

At this point I would suspect the shop doing the work for you. Any others shops in the area you might be able to use?

all the other Ford dealerships near me either don't offer a loaner/rental vehicle while mine is in the shop or has a several month wait for one (I am still on a wait list for one I called back in July). I am kinda stuck with going to this dealership. Ford (not the dealership) is suppose to call me tomorrow to see how I am doing with the "fixed" truck (the se Ford representative that told me Ford denied my buy back request). Any tips on what I should tell them at this point to try and push them to buy it back so I can just move on?
