Trailer tow connector as power source

Trailer tow connector as power source
Just the connector side, not software, actuation, etc.
Anyone figured this out?
I'll suspect (since a push of the brake pedal is required) that the module 'senses' that the brake lights have 'consumed' current, and then allows power flow.
Anyone got min/max resistance? Tried a lamp that worked?
Would ONLY faking out the brake circuit be required?

If you have a towing package there is a +12 power and Grd available at the trailer plug in.
An idea is to build a 7 way to 4 prong adapter that has a LED lamp tester permanently installed then tap the +12 and ground in the plug and run it to what is needed to be powered. This would isolate the load from the truck battery when the truck is off and charge what needs to be charged when the truck is on.

Have tow something, 4 and 7 there.
Also have 7 pin connector, so wondering what exactly to jump.
Suspecting brake circuit load (5 watts?) then use the 12 on other pin.
Is rigging 1 circuit enough?

We might be able to help better if we knew what you're trying to do. For instance I've used the 7 pin as a source to run add on backup lights and to power the lights in fiberglass cap. What are you trying to do? Jim

Actually, I hooked 4 wires (+, -, L , R) to a 7 pin blank connector, expecting to have add stuff.
I had 12 v whenever the engine ran, had to do NOTHING.
I have air bags coming, looking to power my little Viair from the rear.

I run an electric cooler sitting in the bed of my truck off of the 7 pin while traveling. I use , which worked fine, but would give me trailer disconnect warnings. Put
, and that was gone. Works quite well.
