Default Trailer lighting module fault

Has anyone had this message come up while towing their trailer? I just had my trailer in the shop and verified that everything is working yet I still get this message. The manual just says to check for a short on the trailer which I know I don't have. Any ideas?

Do you know if you have all your software update up to date on your truck? Mine said the same thing, and I had a recall to reprogram the trailer module and it went away. It was super annoying before the update. Every ten seconds it seemed like it would light up my dash. At first, I thought it was because my trailer has LED's lights and since they draw low voltage, it wasn't detecting the trailer lights, but after the update, it stopped doing it completely. I never had to add a resistor between the trailer and the truck.

Had terrible errors with 4ways. Ford adapter sucks. Seven is fine so far.

I had my truck in the dealership in April when they updated the software for my trailer control module. That update got my pro trailer backup working. Was there another recent update?

I think there was only one trailer update, but I am not sure when it was released.

Ok thanks, I’m going to check my fuses tonight to rule them out.

THIS
Order a 7 pin connector on Amazon and cut the 4 pin connector off your trailer wires and wire on the 7 pin connector. Problem solved. I did this on my boat trailer...much better connection.

I was towing my small utility trailer with Kayaks a few weeks back and it errored several times and the lights went out, sucked as it was raining out and no trailer lights. I know its not the trailer as the wire and lights were recently replaced with all new LED's lighting.

My trailer lights work fine on the passenger side. The driver’s side the turn signal and brake light doesn’t work. When I turn my headlights on the driver’s lights up fine but still doesn’t work for turn signals or braking.

I've had this same issue with my 2021 F150. Several different trailers, always an error message on the rear driver side - when the headlights are on.

When they're off, everything is fine and blinkers and brake lights on trailer and everything work fine.
